The Gram Life

Aww h*** naw!!

Okay so this post is kinda going to be divided into 2 sections:
1) Trends I am guilty of following/ trends I wanted to try in my younger days.
2) "Absolutely not!"/ "Why?!" trends that I still don't understand...
  • Okay, I confess, I wore these types of shirts ...not the ones with writings on the butts tho (as dear Trois has highlighted)...just the shirts...why do I want people staring at my butt as I walk away...um....yea. These days, whether is on the shirt or on the pants, leave it to toddlers and anyone less than 16...even that's pushing it a little...This actually goes hand-in-hand with logos...like this: I can't handle it...I just can't!! Or this: ...I would never carry this purse...too much noise!!!!
  • I also confess in my past life, I wanted a belly button piercing so bad...sigh...I was so into Britney Spears and I wanted that look...Its soooo lame now...same goes for tattoos...getting one now would be so pointless...
  • I confess that I wanted to/might have worn a midriff top before...these days, unless you're (a) a superstar performing at a concert OR (b) planning to wear a sari over that OR (c) Britney Spears (circa 1999 : Baby One more Time), you should not be wearing a midriff shirt in 2011!!!! Just this past month I saw a girl on the street with a midriff and a gypsy skirt (she kinda looked like that but not as dramatic and she was in all black)...I first of all did a double take because while she looked relatively nice, the midriff just made me have the same look Seinfeld has

Trends I would never follow and don't understand
  • Uggs with a mini skirt and no leggings (most likely to be seen in the dead of winter)...'Nuff said!!! Its like "Sweetie, are you cold or hot?" While I might consider wearing a pair of Uggs, I would never misuse them like this:
  • Crocs: Ugh...I'm sorry, these shoes are UGLY and I don't care how 'comfortable' they are...
  • Gaucho pants: I don't really understand these pants and there was a time I was seeing them everywhere... I don't think they're very flattering on anyone... that's all I'll say about them.

I think I have a whole lot more but for now these irk me every single time!!!
